At
the River Club the water beckons, offering residents the opportunity
to fish, paddle and picnic along the picturesque Town Creek.
Known for its abundance of wildlife, aquatic vegetation and
virgin forests, this tidal-influenced tributary meets up with
the Cape Fear River and Intracoastal Waterway, winding its way
to the Atlantic Ocean.
A cluster of three buildings - a 1,350-square-foot multi-purpose
gathering room, restroom facilities and a nature center offering
canoes, kayaks and fishing tackle - are connected by covered
porches overlooking the picturesque creek.
The boating and fishing center will also include a screened
pavilion for cookouts, an outdoor stone fireplace, an observation
platform, canoe and kayak storage facilities and a boardwalk
and pedestrian bridge leading to a floating dock on the river.
