Brunswick Forest Celebrates Sales Success One Family at a Time

Brunswick Forest celebrated a record year in sales, having welcomed more than 340 families during 2015 to this award-winning, lifestyle-focused community. As the year wound down, sales remained brisk, despite November and December traditionally being slow periods in the real estate market. Forty-five contracts were written and 29 properties closed during November 2015, the busiest sales month ever for the community.

According to Jerry Helms, Brunswick Forest’s director of sales, the tremendous sales success has not shifted the original focus of the community: to create a place for families to live and enjoy an active lifestyle.

“We’ve grown considerably in the years since we opened in 2007, but we still maintain a focus on one family at a time,” he said. “We want every family that moves to Brunswick Forest to feel welcomed from the moment they purchase their home site and their future home sign goes up on their property, to the day they move into their new home, through all the years they live here. Our community as a whole is made up of individual families, and we never lose sight of that.”

New Neighbors Sarah Sholes and Jay Antonelli
One of the many families that Brunswick Forest welcomed in 2015 is comprised of Sarah Sholes and Jay Antonelli, who are anxiously awaiting their October wedding. The couple has special ties to the community, not only because they are building their lovely new home in the Cape Fear National neighborhood of Brunswick Forest, but also because Jay proposed to Sarah on their home site during a routine visit to view construction progress.

“It was my idea to go visit the lot,” said Sarah. “I remember when we drove up, there was a table set up with a white tablecloth. Jay called my father and said, ‘Dick, I got an issue here and I need your help. I’m about to propose to your daughter and I need your approval first.’ That’s when I started crying.”

Jay had a little help from the couple’s Brunswick Forest sales executive in planning the picnic for the proposal, which included a bottle of champagne, chocolates and an antipasti platter. “It’s funny because, afterward, we were sitting there sipping our champagne and enjoying the moment, and people were driving by wondering what we were doing,” Sarah said.

Sarah and Jay relocated to Brunswick Forest from Wall Township, New Jersey. When initially considering their move, they knew they wanted to live in coastal North Carolina, but did not have a particular community in mind. After visiting Brunswick Forest, they were impressed with the community’s amenities and high-quality homebuilders.

“Every time we came down, we saw something else that we loved,” said Sarah. “Brunswick Forest just offers so many little things that add up. It feels like home to us.”

Resident-Centered Development
The constant additions and expansions of the community that attracted Sarah and Jay are a key part to the community’s sales strategy and continued success.

“We are focused on providing a wonderful lifestyle experience for each individual in the community,” said Helms. “With each decision to enhance the community— whether it be an addition to our builder team or having new businesses come to The Villages—we ultimately have our residents and their well-being in mind.”

Coming to The Villages in 2016
The Villages at Brunswick Forest will see the addition of several new businesses in the new year. This 160-acre commercial town center, located at the entrance to the community, will welcome an Irish pub, a wine bar, a new Farm Bureau office, as well as offices for Berry Financial and CAMS. Brunswick Forest preferred builder, Legacy Homes by Bill Clark, also has plans to open offices in The Villages in 2016.

Additions to the Builder Team
Straight on the heels of welcoming four new preferred builders to the team in 2015, Brunswick Forest has added another builder to its team for the new year. The largest privately held homebuilder in the country, David Weekley Homes brings several decades of experience to the community. The company has plans to build new single-family homes in Brunswick Forest’s upcoming neighborhood, Spring Branch.

“A large part of our sales success can be attributed to our partnerships with our builder team,” said Helms. “We align ourselves with some of the best in the industry to help bring the utmost in quality to our customers. I’m excited to have these new builders on our team, and I look forward to working with them for years to come as we continue to grow the community, one family at a time.”
