Brunswick Forest

Brunswick Forest is once again rated in the Top 50 Best Master-Planned Communities in the country by Where to Retire magazine. Each year, Where to Retire selects what they term “the best of the best” for planned communities based on their amenities, lifestyle, home designs and sales success.

In recent decades, the number of masterplanned communities is increasing nationwide, with Brunswick Forest consistently being singled out among the country’s finest. “Brunswick Forest continues to rank ahead of other communities by providing residents with the homes and amenities they desire,”says Brunswick Forest Director of Sales & Marketing Jerry Helms. “Our vision for the community is a long-term approach where there will be sustained development over at least a 20-year period.” Helms continues, “Brunswick Forest is a place where folks can live, age in place, and have access to immediate services. We have designed the community much like a town is planned, and our main focuses are to create a beautiful community where folks want to live, and to promote an active lifestyle.”

BENEFITS OF MASTER PLANNED COMMUNITIES

Amenities
Master-planned communities offer a wide variety of benefits, not the least of which are built-in community amenities. Where to Retire looked at the amenity offerings for the country’s master-planned communities, and Brunswick Forest stood out with its more than 100 miles of walking, biking and nature trails,award-winning golf course, kayak launch and boat ramp on Town Creek, 18,000-square-foot Fitness and Wellness Center, tennis and pickleball courts, dog park, community garden and three community pools.

“Our development team continues to keep its finger on the pulse of what is new and different, whether it’s another activity that residents might enjoy or a new architectural style that may fit in with our overall coastal look and feel,” says Helms. “For example, pickleball was not being played in this area. But when we saw that it was becoming popular in Florida, we brought it to Brunswick Forest and our residents have completely taken to it.” Helms points out that the Pickleball Club now has more than 300 members, and the community just opened six new pickleball courts next to the Cape Fear National® clubhouse.

Quiet Enjoyment of Nature
The long-range vision for master-planned communities is also beneficial for maintaining and highlighting an area’s natural features. At Brunswick Forest, the developers took care to design the community around the property’s natural scenic attributes, such as its beautiful lakes, forests and creeks.

The community’s golf course, designed by renowned golf architect Tim Cate, makes excellent use of the natural surroundings, and the home sites are carefully placed along the course to highlight the beauty of the area.

Protection of Your Investment
Master-planned communities such as Brunswick Forest also give residents a low- maintenance lifestyle, with options for maintenance-free living, as well as a feeling of security that their investment is protected. “Our association management makes certain there’s a consistent quality throughout the community,” says Helms. “This, along with the developer presence here for the next decade or two, helps ensure that home values within Brunswick Forest stay stable.”

Accessibility
Easy access to medical care, shopping and other services is also key when developing a master-planned community. Brunswick Forest’s prime location right beside Wilmington, coupled with proximity to all of the businesses in The Villages, gives its residents numerous options for accessing the services they need.

A Strong Sense of Community
When searching for a place to retire, people desire a community where they will have a built-in support system within their network of friends and neighbors. In compiling its “50 Best” list, Where to Retire looked at developments that provided residents with a strong sense of community.

Brunswick Forest is distinctive among masterplanned communities in that it offers residents more than 50 clubs, frequent community events like its Summer Concert Series, movie nights, festivals, and neighborhood socials at the community’s clubhouse. “Brunswick Forest offers staffed amenities, along with folks working at the Welcome Center, who create events and activities that bring neighbors together,” says Helms. “Active programming is essential for growth and a strong sense of belonging in a community.”

Sales Success with Inventive Home Designs
Where to Retire also looked at the quality of home designs in planned communities and took note of Brunswick Forest because their homes exhibit a high level of craftsmanship and inventive design. The community’s team of quality builders offers a wide variety of home plans in a number of styles, from town homes and charming villas to coastal cottages, neo-traditional bungalows, and expansive Florida-inspired retreats.

While all Brunswick Forest homes share the common coastal lifestyle theme that draws so many people to the area, each of the community’s neighborhoods has its own distinct style. “Diversity in our architecture has really been a key element to our success,” says Helms. “These are not one-size-fits-all homes, which also helps to preserve the homeowners’ investment when it comes time for resale.”

New Property Release
This weekend, Brunswick Forest will follow up its latest Where to Retire accolade with new property releases in several neighborhoods: The Woodlands at Meadow Park, Shelmore and Cape Fear National. The public is invited to take a tour of the community, see the homes, and find out why Brunswick Forest is consistently ranked in the top tier of all master-planned communities in the nation.
