Wilmington Health is doubling its footprint in Brunswick Forest. It has occupied 5,000-square-feet of office space in the medical building, but is adding additional space and will occupy over 10,000 square feet on the property.
“We’re pleased to bring our Leland family medicine physicians all under one roof at Brunswick Forest,” said Jeff James, Wilmington Health chief executive officer in a news release. “With the newly completed construction, our patients will have convenient access to three board-certified family physicians.”
Wilmington Health’s family medicine staff, including the three family physicians, will move into the new space. The third physician is Dr. Kira Alatar, who will join the Leland office from Wilmington Health on Village Road.
The physicians’ group will host a grand opening with tours and refreshments in the new space on Thursday, October 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. Brunswick Forest Family Medicine is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Brunswick Forest has 25 providers, including 18 physicians, who see patients in 10 departments: cardiology, dermatology, family medicine, gastroenterology, internal medicine, neurology, orthopedic surgery, pediatrics, sleep medicine and special needs or transitional medicine.
At this location, Wilmington Health also has a Convenient Care office for non-emergency walk-in patients.
New Hanover Regional Medical Center leases the 40,000 square foot building, but sub-leases office space to medical tenants such as Wilmington Health and Atlantic Orthopedics.
The first floor is occupied, but the second floor has some raw space vacancies, said Lannin Kerry, property manager for the Villages of Brunswick Forest.
The New Hanover Regional Medical Center Health and Diagnostics building is located at 1333 S. Dickinson Drive.
