As a resident of Brunswick Forest, you have plenty of options for celebrating our nation’s independence this 4th of July holiday! Check out these area events and get out and celebrate with your Brunswick Forest neighbors this weekend.

SOUTHPORT 4TH OF JULY FESTIVAL
The City of Southport has celebrated July 4th in a big way for more than 200 years, and this year will be no exception! In colonial times, Southport marked the holiday with cannon fire from local ships in the harbor but, this year, residents and visitors can enjoy a spectacular fireworks display, fair food, more than 100 arts and craft vendors, a naturalization ceremony, veteran’s recognition, a Freedom Run and Walk, games, live music, a car show and much more. Festival attendees should not miss the city’s famous Fourth of July Parade which kicks off at 11 am at the corner of Atlantic and Moore Streets. For more details on all of the holiday events, visit the North Carolina 4th of July Festival at Southport website.

DOWNTOWN WILMINGTON FIREWORKS
Head to downtown Wilmington this July 4th for the city’s annual fireworks display! Before the show, starting at 5pm, the 440th Army Band will play at Riverfront Park and food vendors will be on-hand so guests can enjoy a little pre-fireworks dinner. The fireworks display will begin at 9:05 pm and will be set off from a barge on the Cape Fear River for a fantastic show overlooking the water!
